Doris (Kyla Pratt) is depressed over her grandfather's death. Her foster sister Laurie (Dania Ramirez) tries to get her out of it, but nothing's working. Doris' parents leave for the weekend, and she sits down to watch TV. She starts to cry while "Fat Albert" is on TV, and that allows Fat Albert and the boys to leave TV land and enter the real world thru the TV. Being real helps the boys get over their problems. Mushmouth (Jermaine Williams) learns to talk. Weird Harold (Aaron Frazier) learns to play basketball. Fat Albert falls for Laurie. At the same time the boys work at getting Doris past her grandfather's death and on with her life. They like the real world so much that they want to stay. However, a visit to the real Bill Cosby convinces them they must go back.
