The movie mask is about a young man, Rocky (Eric Stoltz), who suffers from a fatal illness that caused his skull to grow and deform. His mother, Rusty (Cher), wants Rocky to have as normal a life as possible, but this proves difficult because people don’t accept Rocky’s "freakish" appearance. Rocky has few friends his own age, and instead develops a close relationship with his mother, who he plans to travel around the world with, and the bikers that comprise her group of friends. Rusty works hard to get Rocky into a normal school, where he overcomes prejudice and falls in love with a beautiful blind girl (Laura Dern) who accepts Rocky for who he is, not what he looks like.
